Biography
Dr. Shaochong Lin is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Data and Systems Engineering at the University of Hong Kong. Dr. Lin received his PhD degree in Decision Analytics and Operations from the College of Business, City University of Hong Kong. He received his Bachelor and Master degrees from South China University of Technology, and Tongji University, respectively. He was a visiting researcher in the Department of Industrial Engineering and Operations Research at UC Berkeley (2019-2020) and a Research Assistant Professor at the University of Hong Kong (2023-2025). Dr. Lin's research involves data-driven Operations Management, interfaces between Machine Learning and Operations Research, and their applications in real-world problems in Supply Chain Management, Smart Scheduling and Transportation. He is an ad-hoc reviewer for journals such as Management Science, Operations Research, Manufacturing & Service Operations Management, and Production and Operations Management.
