HKU Robocon Teams Shine at Robocon Hong Kong Contest 2026 with Multiple Awards

Congratulations to HKU Robocon teams Sapientia and Virtus on their outstanding achievements at the Robocon Hong Kong Contest 2026!

Representing the Department of Data and Systems Engineering at The University of Hong Kong, Team Sapientia was crowned Champion, while Team Virtus won Second Runner-up. The HKU Robocon group also received the Best Team Spirit Award and Best Performance Award, marking another remarkable year of success. As the Hong Kong champion, Team Sapientia will represent Hong Kong as the home team at ABU Robocon 2026 this August, competing against teams from 15 countries and regions.

This year’s contest, themed “Kung Fu Quest”, challenged teams to design and operate robots to complete a series of tasks inspired by Chinese traditional Kung Fu, testing their engineering innovation, teamwork, real-time strategy, and precision. The impressive results reflect the dedication, creativity, and technical excellence of the HKU Robocon students, as well as the strong support from the Faculty of Engineering and the Tam Wing Fan Innovation Wing.
