JUPAS Admissions

Applicants with HKDSE qualification shall satisfy the following requirements:

Subjects	Minimum Level
Core Subjects
Chinese language	3
English language	3
Liberal studies	2
Mathematics compulsory part	3
Elective Subject(s)
One of the following elective subjects:
Any 1 Subject (Excluding Applied Learning)*	3
Mathematics Extended Module 1 or 2	3
One of the following elective subjects:
Biology or Chemistry or Physics or Combined Science or Integrated Science	3

*Other Language subjects will be used as unspecified elective subjects. The minimum requirement is Grade E. Level 3 or above in Mathematics (Extended Module 1 or Module 2) is preferred (but not required).

Non-JUPAS Admissions

Applicants with other local/international/national qualifications will be considered on an individual merit basis. The following list is some of the recognised qualifications for admissions, and the Faculty will consider candidates with other qualifications on a case-by-case basis.

Programme Information

The Bachelor of Engineering in Engineering Science [BEng(EngSc)] degree aims at providing students with a comprehensive engineering programme and equipping them with multi-disciplinary knowledge and skills in engineering and other non-technical field. Under the flexible curriculum structure, students will receive solid technical training in the engineering field and develop a broad range of skills in other disciplines. The programme is a timely initiative in response to the ever-changing needs of the world.

Scholarships

The Department offers a number of scholarships exclusively for our qualifying students who demonstrate merit, financial need, innovation, entrepreneurship and community involvement. Eligibility and details of each scholarship vary from year to year and assessment/interviews may be required. With the strong demand for graduates with multi-disciplinary knowledge and skills in both the technical and non-technical fields by various sectors of the society, students of the BEng in Engineering Science programme will have a better edge in their career pursuit after graduation with their broadened horizons and broad-based training, and be better prepared to embark on challenging careers in the competitive global environment, in the sectors of engineering, business, education or the government.

Graduates of this programme are also well-equipped for pursuing further studies for postgraduate degrees in different disciplines.
